Out of all the photographers we learnt about on this morning, I decided to further my research on Laura Levine. I chose her as I really admired her Boy George piece and her style.
She is an American multi disciplinary visual artist who is known for her various portraits of artists like Madonna, R.E.M and The Ramones. She interned at the village voice and way hire by NY Magazine. She has also worked for NME magazine. She focuses a lot on how the light hits the subjects, she works a lot in black and white, stripping them right back to basic photos. I was automatically drawn to her work as it’s very selective with the way she uses contrasting tones to create mood.
