How to bring someones career or hobby into a photo of hands?
Hobbies and careers can both help shape a person and their identity. Some might disagree with this but personally I think that if you choose to do something for fun or as a career you have traits which are shared amongst other people doing the same things. Examples of this include artists, they do what they do either as careers or as hobbies. Regardless of either, the person is creative and has a good eye for what is visually appealing. This is a character and identity trait which can also give you vague ideas of the person. Another example is nurses/doctors as in order to be in that line of work you need to be informed of biological sciences as well as being a caring person. You have to have the sort of traits which make you want to help people in need such as friendliness and care.
To bring these sort of traits out in an image of hands I'm going to need to include props or backgrounds in some cases as certain objects or places can tell you a lot about what someone does and therefore personality traits. This includes places like garages and kitchens and things like paint brushes and stethoscope. All of these objects and places would indicate what the person spends time doing which would then do the main portraying.
I'm going to think about all of these things when planning images and shoots as it will help the person looking at the images define the person.
