My Visual Diary - Contact Sheets

This afternoon we learnt about contact sheets; what they're used for, why people use them and how to make them. We were given example copies which we were told to annotate to try and understand what the photography themselves were doing. We had to think about how they would've been thinking and the reason for some of their annotations. After doing this we were given the final image which was chosen from our specific shoot, with this we had to give reasons of why we thought they chose this one out of all the others they could've chosen. Our final task was to create our own and then annotate it in the way we thought was best for us to understand and work with. I decided to print off my photos from this mornings shoot as it would make me think about what was good and what was bad. I created the contact sheet using Bridge and Photoshop and then I printed it to annotate. When I was annotating I thought aboutwhat would stick in my head and what I would understand without really having to think about it. This included X's, ticks and either one word or a few words describing my thoughts about why that photo worked or didn't.
