My Visual Diary - Reservoir

This series of photos were taken near Plymouth University by the reservoir. I go past it quite often and notice the beautiful pillars and park decoration. I decided to take mulptiple shots of various areas which I found interesting; this for me included the reflection in the water, the mountain of rocks and the pillars in a straight line.
The first photo incudes a few of the elements I stated in my initial 'my Visual Diary' briefing post. I said I wanted to included reflections and pattern as well as getting the mood across in the image. I liked this view as I'm very fond of reflections and in a way, symmetry. When I took this picture, I made sure I got a strong leading line and a clear, focused reflection. I think this photo represents the day as quite a bright, fun but chilled day. The bright sky makes you think of the sun which links the happy emotions and the colour yellow with joy.
The photo manages to capture a good rippled reflection just like the picture below by Joe Gilhooley. This picture was taken by Gilhooley in December 2014 at Glencorse Reservoir. There are a few similarities within the two pieces including the fact that they're both reservoirs, they both have similar reflections of surrounding greenery and the faded out sky reflection in the water; getting lighter as it gets closer to the inner tree reflections.
The second photo represents a completely different mood which is weird as it was on the same day, not even 100m away. I took the photo from as close to the centre as I possibly could to make it looked set up. The black and white makes it look quite calm and quiet. It doesn't look like such a bright, joyful day.
