Below is a selection of my photos taken on my DSLR during todays barbican shoot. I looked around whilst on our walk for things which were different, interesting as well as things which could tell a story or look nice.
The first photo includes a photoshop edit which I love doing as I think it adds a lot more depth and attention to specific things; colour popping. In this photo I mainly wanted to pull out the coffee cart as it is a cute thing to find by the water front. The colours of the cart against the flower/plant pots contrasted very well so when I was colour popping the cart I kept the contrast as well. I took this photo with an aperture of F 11 which meant that there was more focus on the middle section (bring the coffee cart).
The second photo is a good representation of the barbican as thats what many people think of when they think of the barbican. The boats on the water are a common site for Plymouth tourists. I made sure to get a good reflection from the boats on the water as it adds more mood and calm feelings to the photo. Before I edited this photo on photoshop, the exposure was pretty bad and you coudn't really see much. I found this really weird as wehn I was taking the photos and checking them over on the small screen they looked fine but when I dowloaded them I found that it was badly exposed. Thankfully I managed to recover this by changing the exposure setting on Photoshop. The photo still has quite bright and over exposed areas but I think it adds to the scene and the mood of the day.
The third photo was a little idea I had as I was walking past the little waterfront shops. The buildings along the barbican are all quite old and you can see that just by looking at the doors and the brickwork. I took the photo as central as I could as that's what I had in mind.
