Yesterday afternoon, we went through the basics of data collecting which included using programs like excel as well as having a class discussion about why we would need to use data collection, maths and English skills. In order to try out using excel, we were given a task to work out the percentages or how much time we spend doing what in a week. We had to list what we do and how long for and then find a way of putting them into a pie chart and adding the correct percentages. The final outcome to this is in the screenshot below. This task didn’t only give me a chance to learn how to use excel that little bit more, but it also gave me an insight into what I could spend more and less time doing each week. It made me realise that I actually spend a lot of time relaxing which is good to an extent as everyone needs chill time but I then thought that maybe I could do something a bit more productive with some of my spare time. As a result of this, I’m going to try and spend more time on things like my blog, website and other social media pages in order to make them as good as they can be. I am also going to continue my hunt for a part time job as that would help me in a number of ways and make my week more productive as a whole.
