My Visual Diary - Beaumont Park

I had a spare hour or so this afternoon so I decided to take my sister to a park for a shoot. Before going out for the quick shoot I had a lok on google images for inspiration, I typed in 'park photography model' hoping to find something which would influence my work later on. This picture below was one of the first to appear and I really liked it down to the composition and exposure. I like how the photographer was shooting from below the subject so that he got a nice light around the figure. I also like how the light falls upon the models skin (specifically her face) as it's quite flattering.

When we got to the park I found some steps which I thought would look quite cute so I got my sister to sit on them and look up to the side. I also got her to act as casual as she could at the same time as looking off into the distance.

I took multiple shots but chose this one below. The original photo was taken at F 6.3 which means there was a lot of light in the shot. I have included two different versions of the same photo in this post as I could decide on which one I thought was the best. The first one was left quite natural other than the fact that I enhanced some of the brightnesses. It has quite a bright, attitude - like tone to it which is created by the vibrant colours. The second one is more saturated and the mood is completely different and quite deep.

After doing the shoot, I was browsing photos online and I found this image which I thought fit in well and had similar elements as my photo of my sister. The composition was similar as it has the model is to the left hand side and it sat on the ground. The two photos have models which have an attitude about them, they are both looking in a direction with a blank sort of expression. As well as this, both of the photos look quite natural and not too staged; they're quite casual.
