The Collective - Professionalism

One thing we had a class discussion about today was professionalim in the classroom and in the industry.

A big part of it was respect, this includes respect for your peers, the equipment and studios you're using (this include not eating and drinking in the work environments as you could have accidents) and social media terms. We came to the conclusion that we need to ask permission of others if we want to use photos of them in our work out of respect and kindness. As working professionals we need to be reliable, this can be in a number of ways including time keeping, standard/quality of work, communication and safe keeping of work. We always need to make sure we're on time and have a set plan for shoots as they can be quite rushed. We need to stick to dealines as that will get you a good reputation. We need to make sure we're always working to our best ability as it could potentially drag a models portfolio down if your work isn't to a high standard. We need to be reliable with communication, we need to use methods of communication methods where we have a hard copy if anything goes wrong. The best way of doing this is email and social media messaging. The last thing is being reliable with our work and making sure we back everything up on google drive as if you lose your memory stick or hardrive, you might lose all your work which can sometimes cost you a commision. We need to have a good attitude when working as it can get you very far in the industry. If you have a positive mind when working, you'll find working fun and clients are more than likely to come back to you.
