This morning we watched a documentary called Think Of England by Martin Parr. Martin Parr is a British photographer, photojournalist and most commonly know as a documentary photographer. He does a lot of work and short documentaries on certain areas including the one we watched today. Compared to todays technology and life in general, you can tell the documentary we watched is dated due to opinions of people within the video. It was made in 1999 and is a program based on England/Britain. There's a lot of talking to the public about the differences between England and Britain, what English people are like and just questions about England in general. After watching the 'Think Of England - Martin Parr' documentary, I have gained some knowledge of the way people thought about England in 1999. Compared to the way we think about Plymouth today, some things are pretty similar; for example - the weather, we still look at the weather as pretty rubbish compared to other places, we have a lot of rubbish weather and tend to ignore it when its nice. Other things which were interesting was the language used by the people within the documentary. It was extremely different to what we use now.
