Seattle 100: A Portrait of a City is a project which was produced by Chase Jarvis in order to enable people who weren't from or living in Seattle (even some who were) to - or at least try to - understand the wacky city. The project took place over 2 years and documents 100 people. It introduces you to the characters and lives through a few shots and a short paragraph biography to summarize . The project was turned into a book and includes over 300 black and white personality capturing shots. As well as producing a book for an end product for the project, Seattle 100 wines and chocolate were also produced. Below is a photograph of the products produced as an end result of the informative project.

I really admire this project as it is a way of capturing an essence of a city in photographs for everyone to see. It's a great way for people who are unable to visit the city to still get a small taste of what it's like and the way it's such a dynamic place.

When shooting for my project I'm going to use some of the images from this project as inspiration as I feel they provide the viewer with a lot of information regarding character and personality. I'm going to select specific images to inspire me for certain models I am shooting. Since the college library is full of helpful resources I thought I'd look to see if they had the book for me to borrow as online there's only a small selection of the images from the book.
